A downside to being a parent of a one year old, is that sinking feeling you get at 7:30 am, as you realize that just because you and the wife stayed up till 3 in the morning playing video games like a couple of teenagers, doesn't mean that you get to sleep in. The upside of being a parent of a one year old and one of the many things that make it all worthwhile, is waking up to his smiling, adorable face, inches from yours, as he pulls out his sucker, gives you two big wet kisses on the mouth, plugs his sucker back in, and continues crawling over you towards other pursuits.

I used to carry a bag in the summer for my cigarettes and lighter among other things. Now I carry it for a juice bottle, wipes, sunscreen and a couple of oranges.

Ever since seeing this portlandia sketch, I've been saying this to Benji, and he responds with a "yeahh" in the same voice. So we riff on it back and forth, "you're just a little guy". "Yeah".
Hard to believe our little boy is 21 months old today. He moves so fast these days that he's just a blur so I take his picture while he's strapped down in his feeding chair.

Benji went on a barrel ride at the farm today. I was so scared, proud, excited, and did I say scared? To see our little baby who has never been more than a few feet away from mom or dad, to go off into the distance. Lol. Dad survived. Benji loved it and took it all very seriously , like hey I've got some riding to do.

I think the best way to describe a two year old is, they want to be everywhere and do everything all at once.
